Human Reimagined Institute

A project for human renewal
in an age of intelligent machines.

To reimagine what humans are for — and to build the institutions, standards and habits that let us live up to it.

Deliberate, not distracted.

Creative, not derivative.

Wise, not merely faster.

We start from a human question, not a technological one: what kind of humans do we want to become, and what capacities — judgment, craft, deliberation, care, creativity, civic virtue — must we actively cultivate so they are not quietly lost?

Artificial intelligence is the most powerful context in which that question is now being answered, but it is not the only one. Schools, courts, clinics, workplaces and democracies can all fail the human test long before an algorithm arrives.

Our principle is simple: augmentation without abdication.  Every tool we accept should leave us more human, not less.

Human intelligence may be augmented.
Human responsibility, judgment and meaning must not be automated away.

“In the past, organisations had to learn to think ethically and environmentally. In the age of AI, they will also need to think philosophically.”

The Human Reimagined Institute

The Human Reimagined Institute was founded as a decade-long inquiry into the human future of artificial intelligence.

Its purpose is to explore how AI will transform society — not only economically or technologically, but morally, culturally, psychologically, and philosophically — and to develop ideas, standards, and public conversations that help keep human beings meaningfully present in the age of intelligent machines.

The Institute is being built in public. Founding members receive early drafts, consultation invitations, and a hand in the standards that will define human-centred AI.
